Mark Nicol has worked in the water industry since 2001, and is considered to be an industry expert in water management and technology solutions, having worked in a global role for most of his career. Mark is extensively educated and experienced in both water management and business strategy having worked for global organisations at all stages of the supply chain.

Some of Mark's experience and achievements include: 

• MSc in Modelling and Management of Surface Freshwater Systems at the University of Reading,UK (2001)
• Executive MBA from Henley Business School, UK (2019)
• Network Modelling Engineer for Yorkshire Water in the UK
• Zonal Network Engineer / Leakage Analyst for Thames Water in the UK
• Head of Network Modelling for Ranhill Group in Malaysia
• NRW Consultant and Water Operator Partnership Coordinator for US AID (through AECOM)
• Senior Director of Sales and Operations at Echologics, part of the Mueller Water Products
• Management Committee of the International Water Association Water Loss Specialist Group and SWAN Forum APAC Alliance (former leader of the Communications Committee)

In 2023, Mark took the decision to go independent with the aim to use his experience to support organisations looking address the unique challenges with operating and doing business in the Asia Pacific region. He founded NICOL CONSULTING, with the aim to bring greater value to utilities in the Asia Pacific Region. NICOL CONSULTING now provides and manages best in class solutions and systems from across the industry and around the world, to utilities in the region.
